Cape Talk | A special envoy of natural resources of the Netherlands, Dirk-Jan Koch, says water shortage is one of the biggest problems facing the country today.

JOHANNESBURG – As South Africa battles the worst drought in over in 23 years, a special envoy of natural resources of the Netherlands Dirk-Jan Koch says water is one of the biggest problems facing the country today.

Koch is in the country as part of a mission to try and help solve some of these problems.

Acid mine drainage, is also cited as one of the issues leading to a water problem; Koch says using bacteria to clean this drainage would save a lot of water for the country.
